Cyber Security Research

Cyber Explore at MTU, hosted at the Nimbus Research Centre, is on a mission to strengthen the security of Ireland's digital assets and resilience of its critical infrastructure. Its core aim is to securely blend the digital world with the physical world, protecting everyone and making systems more resilient to cyber security by fostering skills, research, and innovation.

Cyber Explore undertakes many cyber security projects, addressing all stages of technological development. These initiatives benefit from varied partnerships and funding, including Enterprise Ireland Innovation Vouchers/Partnerships, Science Foundation Ireland National Challenge Fund, Research Training and Research Centres, SEAI, Horizon Europe, and Digital Europe.

We are Ireland's leading experts in cybersecurity education. Three of Ireland's top universities, Munster Technological University (MTU), University of Limerick (UL) and Technolgical University Dublin (TUD) are collaborating to provide pathways and micro-credentials to upskill and enhance your career in cybersecurity.

Cyber Futures

Cyber Futures is our Cyber Security Career Promotion programme at Cyber Skills. Funded by the Science Foundation Ireland Discover fund, it includes the cyberfutures.ie website sharing information about career opportunities in Ireland, an Instagram account sharing career information regularly and series of events including the Summer Cyber Security Academy.

Cybersecurity is a global challenge - affecting individuals, organisations, and societies in general. Small companies are even more vulnerable than larger organisations. Despite 95% of small and medium Irish businesses experiencing a cyber-attack in the past year.
